So, the cast of Avengers Doomday was released, and we're getting a lot of people reprising their roles from the Fox's X-Men movies. Including Nightcrawler. Not young Nightcrawler, ALAN CUMMING'S NIGHTCRAWLER FROM X2!!!
First of all, I wasn't expecting him to come back. Second, I love Nightcrawler as he's one of my favorite X-Men characters. We were fortunate that he was handled well in X-Men 97. But, I swear, MCU, if you ruin Kurt Wagner for us, if you do him dirty of if you kill him off in a terrible way like Professor X in Multiverse of Madness, I WILL FREAKING LOSE IT!

I am so over it. Give me back my dream duo, Sam and Bucky, and let them help rebuild the Avenger legacy now that my two other super parents, yes, Tony and Steve, are gone. Give Buck his cat and Sam the oppertunity to be more than a US military tool.
Also, let Yelena be happy and be a normal young adult with Kate.

I miss when it was still exciting to go see a marvel movie. Now, I just feel dread every time something is announced or is in the theaters. it seems like the more possibilities they get (such as introducing new characters, new storylines, the whole multiverse bullshit) the movies become more garbage. It really was better when the movies were just about the Avengers versus Loki. The Avengers versus new bad guy. The Avengers versus each other. Asgardian shenanigans. Captain America versus Hydra shenanigans. Black Panther. Doctor Strange. GOTG even though I’m not necessarily a huge fan.
Honestly, I can’t even remember liking any of the movies/series that came out… and I saw most of them. The MCU is so over and it’s so saddening to me. It used to be so much fun. Some of the What If episodes were kind of fun, but everything else… 😞 I wish the Avengers could’ve been forever. Endgame is the evil that keeps on giving. It never stopped.
Obviously, the MCU has always had its mistakes and flops. But… it wasn’t every single project back to back. Possibly the only thing that’s remained consistent is their love of whitewashing, butchering, and nerfing characters. None of that changed.

I don't know if someone has already written in this regard but wtf is that Dr Doom casting. Can't Marvel Studios divorce themselves with RDJ already?
I'm angry as they would probably make Dr Doom a title for Iron Man who went rogue & ended up as a villain. But my point is when are we going to leave the ghost of Tony Stark & move ahead.
We have a great villain in Doom as a standalone in comics, he's a politician, a scientist & a sorcerer. He has a history with the Fantastic Four. He's an interesting character who could've been the main villain of the MCU for the next decade. And we could've had anybody else. There are so many great actors out there who could play him. But Marvel literally said no we want hype so we will go with RDJ.

yeah obviously it sucks that marvel is ruining a great arc just to bring back rdj as a shitty cash grab, but like i will not be satisfied until god of stories loki reunites with sacred timeline thor, im sorry. he said the sun will shine on us again and i will beg for it until that becomes true
i understand why we hate marvel ignoring the incredible endings to their own stories just for a little more money. but i fucking want a thor and loki reunion on the big screen
and with god of stories loki its actually fucking possible and could make sense

Saw Deadpool and Wolverine and rolled my eyes as the camera focused on the Iron Man helmet and the ark reactor for a good minute. There's no respite from this man! He's just going to haunt every Marvel movie even when the characters have nothing to do with him.

I already said this in the past but imma say this again. Hate to break it to some of you but someone's skin tone doesn't cancel their ethnicity out.
Pietro is originally written as a light-skinned/white Romani for example. Doom is a white Romani as far as I'm aware and have seen in comics in my reading list.
Europeans aren't magically gonna discriminate less on a Romani person because they have lighter skin😭.
I've seen light-skinned Romani people get murdered in recordings and comments of Europeans mocking their deaths. It didn't change shit that their skin colour was similar. Even if Wanda's skin tone was light, doesn't change the fact that the actress isn't fucking Romani nor is the fucking character in the MCU.

It's such a shame that loki never made an appearance after the dark world:/

we can all agree that the mcu loki deleted scenes are good, right? which means that, logically, the show will become good if they just delete all the scenes :)

Friendly reminder that Loki is an agent of chaos and the TVA is the antithesis of everything that he stands for as a character. Making him a simp for these fascists is the most insulting thing the MCU could have possibly done to this character

Just saw gifs of the variant’s outfit in the finale.. day = ruined. Please it’s so ugly and I hate the reasoning behind it so badly they’re always trying to strip Loki of who he is and it’s so sad like so what if he wants to wear the attire of his home realm where he is also royalty mind you 😞 now I have to go on a rant..
Not only was he stripped of his personality but also of anything that represented him. How anyone who claims to love Loki can tolerate this series, I have no idea. It was written by people who do not like Loki, or his fans. Like okay so the diminishing of Loki’s character is alright just because they put a scene of him crying for one episode while also skipping over the major event he previously went through to go on and talk about other characters and their struggles oh don’t piss me off.
The whole concept fucking pisses me off from the get go. I do not care about an alternate version of Loki. I think series fans fail to realize that our dislike of the series does not only lie with the mischaracterization. It also lies with the entire concept of the series. Loki had already existed for a decade before the series came out, and his own story was left unfinished. Why would I care about an alternate version of him from the Avengers (immediately before he was able to go through his most important character development in TDW btw) when he couldn’t even be written consistently after 2013?
Loki fan to Loki “fan”, I don’t care how much merch you have. I don’t care if you’ve met Tom multiple times. I don’t care if you’ve watched the movies (but I mean if they actually did, I figure something would click eventually) every single day. If you truly believe that the series did justice to Loki’s character as well as respected the previous writer’s work that implemented and laid down the definitive traits and aspects of his character for years only for them to get overlooked and completely erased in a few episodes a decade later, you do not love Loki. You are not a fan.
There are so many series diehards that have SO much merch or have met Tom like 30 times and it boggles my mind. Like you don’t even like Loki enough to see the difference of his characterization from 2011 to 2013 (or even fucking Ragnarok at this point. He still had at least a few aspects of who he is in it. I hate to defend it because it did him wrong as well, but I’ve got to be honest) vs in this this garbage ass series that bears his name, but does nothing except diminish it. Why be so invested financially in something you cannot think critically about? How do you not like… sense the difference?
I’ve also met Tom and have a LOT of merch. Is that what makes me a fan? No, Because what makes me a fan is my love for Loki and my dislike of the ignorance towards his character. I’m not saying this towards casual fans who enjoyed the series and bought a funko pop. Like i really don’t give a fuck and I’m not expecting them to know anything about Loki. But I’d expect better from people who claim to be his fans.
In 2021 when the series first came out, I was critical from the beginning. I did not like the concept, and also didn’t really trust marvel with doing anything good with Loki. When I watched that first episode, I just knew it was over from the first few minutes or so. And I was a fairly new fan of Loki!! Like how could anyone accept this bullshit? Also I could’ve swore so many more people disliked it then. I’ll never forget it lol my entire TikTok FYP was just people shitting on the episodes each week. Especially the finale. They were like “yeah guys uh.. Maybe it’ll get better.” Then the finale came out and everyone flipped LOL
I don’t care if people think I’m harsh for saying any of this. You straight up are not a Loki fan if you’re a fan of the series. You like the idea of him maybe, but you don’t like him for who he truly is and that’s sad because neither did the characters around him. Misunderstood in canon as well as by his own “fans” it’s so over.
Oh also notice how series fans pretty much never talk about TDW. They cannot comprehend an MCU project that takes place directly after the Avengers and actually does Loki’s character right. Lmfao.
Loki “fans” if they were forced to actually enjoy his character in canon instead of only in fanon for one second:
Tumblr media
They’d be so surprised that he dares to stick up for himself, and has a fucking personality and motives of his own.

Watching Agatha All Along again after giving up on Marvel for three years made me think about why I gave it up in the first place.
I was so deep in the MCU. I cried so much during Infinity War that I struggled to walk out of the cinema. I watched Endgame on the first day that it was released. My diary was a CACW notebook. Part of the reason I took up STEM subjects was because of Marvel.
And then after watching MoM in theatres, I stopped.
I'm trying to phrase and figure out what made me give up something I was so invested in, something I loved so much. I think I know why.
The MCU period I was active in gave me characters that I ended up loving, and the later period took them away.
My two favourite characters were ruined. Their character arcs and core characters undone. I'm worried about my favourite too.
I hate it when the sequel undermines the previous works.
When I think of Steve Rogers, I don't think of the guy who chose to either fuck up the entire timeline of the MCU or sat quietly and watch the world in turmoil, his allies die tragically, and his best friend left to a fate worst than dead to get with a girl he wasn't even dating, a woman who had a life of her own and moved on.
I think of Steve from CATWS, the guy from Brooklyn who still does the right thing in a time when morals are blurred. The Steve who is kind, compassionate and brave. The Steve who inspired the base-level employees of SHEILD to follow his example and not bow down in the face of tyranny. The Steve who just had one mission, and that was standing up to bullies.
When I think of Wanda, I don't think of the insane, manic witch/evil goddess who killed thousands mercilessly even though there was a harmless solution, who after all she lost, somehow only wanted her children who she had for three days instead of also her love and her twin.
I think of Wanda, the girl who lost it all, who's family was all killed, who was denied a burial for Vision, who was left alone and abandoned in the world, with so much love in her heart that no longer had a place, a person to go to. The girl who feels so much so deeply that it bended reality. The girl who had to learn, who had to give up her dream, but did so, because at the end of the day, she is a kind person, who doesn't want to hurt people. She was wrong, she takes time to understand and accept the harm she's caused (as we all do), and then makes it right. She tries to be good. Despite everything, she tries.
The later stages of MCU took these two characters that mean so much to me personally, and ruined them.
And I'm fucking mad at them, because it disrespected all the work that made me love them in the first place, and it was preventable. (The original script for MoM where Wanda helps Strange but repeatedly gets tempted by the Darkhold is a much more convincing narrative.)
And I'd say the same applies to others: Natasha, Thor, Bruce, even Strange (although I feel like they never really figured out what they wanted to do with Strange's character)
I miss my characters, I miss my MCU.
